It's a funny old world. As they say.
Don't they also say, it's a man's world?
I've been thinking about funny old men this week. First I went to see a company that makes £100k performance cars. Then I went to talk to men about woodstain, sheds and things like that.
Men are notoriously reluctant to 'open up' and talk about their dreams, about what really matters to them in their life.
It is easy to get sidetracked by surface distractions.
Like cars and sheds.
But you can get glimpses into the deeper stuff, if you are lucky or approach it in the right way.
I hope that we get to study men and expensive cars.
Our method is to revisit the excellent 'From A to B tales of modern motoring' by Nicholas Barker/Martin Parr.
You should really try and get the book, or better still watch the series.
Alternatively, we shall concentrate on sheds.
Glorious in their own, deeply misunderstood kind of way.
